Taylor Trammell Could Contribute In 2021
4 years agoSeattle Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto said that outfielder Taylor Trammell, MLB Pipeline's No. 100 overall prospect in 2021, will receive strong consideration to contribute this season after being acquired in a trade with the Padres last year. The 23-year-old is a former first-round draft pick and is a player that Dipoto said the team is "still learning a lot about." He struggled with his jump to Double-A in 2019 in his last full season, slashing .234/.340/.349 in 126 games. But Seattle is lacking notable outfield depth, so Trammel will be given a long look in spring training. Trammell could make his big-league debut later this season, but he could use some more work on his plate approach in the minors. Speed is one of his best assets, as he's stolen at least 20 bags in each of his four minor league seasons.
