Carson Wentz, Jalen Hurts To Compete In 2021?
4 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni hinted on Monday that the team could feature a quarterback competition between Carson Wentz and Jalen Hurts this summer. "A core value, is competition," Sirianni said. "That's competition everywhere. Everybody is going to compete." It remains a mystery if Wentz will even be on the roster, and it is unknown if he even wants to remain with the Eagles after being benched in favor of Hurts last season. Philly would take on $34 million in dead salary cap money if they were to move Wentz. The 28-year-old had his worst season in 2020 and had beef with former head coach Doug Pederson, which is part of the reason why the Eagles fired the former coach. But even if Wentz sticks around in 2021, he won't be guaranteed the starting gig after Hurts gave this offense a spark late last season. Wentz won't be a redraft option in early fantasy football drafts, and his dynasty/keeper stock has taken a big hit.
