Carlos Carrasco A Potential Trade Chip?
4 years agoThe Cleveland Indians could include right-hander Carlos Carrasco in a trade package with shortstop Francisco Lindor, much like the Red Sox did when they included starting pitcher David Price and All-Star outfielder Mookie Betts in a trade package to the Dodgers. It wouldn't be surprising to see Cleveland make a move like this, with Carrasco set to make $12 million in both of the next two seasons while also having a $14 million team option for 2023. Cleveland would then have more financial flexibility in its budget to spend on bats. Carrasco overcame leukemia in 2019 but bounced back in 2020 with a 2.91 ERA and 10.9 K/9 over his 12 starts. The 33-year-old will be a solid SP2 target for fantasy managers next year, even if he's dealt in a package with Lindor.
