Onyeka Okongwu Rookie Outlook
4 years agoAtlanta Hawks forward/center Onyeka Okongwu is an intriguing prospect, but it's hard to imagine him playing much of a role in the early stages of the 2020-21 season. Atlanta has Clint Capela at center plus John Collins, who is capable of sliding down to the five when the team goes smaller. Okongwu is a versatile player who should be able to provide better perimeter defense than Capela down the line. That could help him carve out a role later in the year, as his ability to finish in the pick-and-roll meshes nicely with point guard Trae Young. But fantasy managers in most leagues shouldn't be drafting Okongwu on the hopes that he has a role by February, though he should be on your watchlist.
