Cam Akers Gets In Limited Practice
4 years agoLos Angeles Rams rookie running back Cam Akers (shoulder) and defensive lineman Michael Brockers (knee) were both limited in practice on Tuesday. It's good news for Akers, who was listed as an estimated non-participant on Monday. The second-round pick out of Florida State had a season-high 21 carries for 72 yards and a touchdown in the Week 13 win over the Cardinals, and he has 30 carries for 156 yards and two touchdowns in the last two games. Akers is trending up in both real life and fantasy football and should be considered the Rams leading back with four games remaining in the regular season. As long as he can get in another practice on Wednesday, Akers should be considered a low-end RB2/high-end RB3/flex on Thursday night against New England. Darrell Henderson Jr. and Malcolm Brown would split the backfield workload if Akers is ruled out.
