Philip Rivers Will Likely Need Offseason Surgery
4 years agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Philip Rivers (toe) is expected to play through his injury in Week 13- and for the remainder of the season- though it's serious enough that the veteran signal-caller will require offseason surgery. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport described the injury as a more serious version of turf toe, as it's officially a rupture of a plantar plate in Rivers' toe. The former Chargers' quarterback was never known for his blazing speed and has toughed out injuries before, so it's not expected to affect his play too much. However, it does make playing him a bit more risky, especially in DFS formats.
