Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky completed 26-of-46 passes for 242 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in the Bears disappointing 41-25 loss to the Packers in Week 12. Trubisky was inserted back in as starter for the first time since being benched in Week 3 and the results were, predictably, mixed. The Bears Defense put the offense in a hole early and the deficit was worsened due to some bad mistakes by Trubisky. He threw a ball deep to Darnell Mooney into double coverage that was intercepted that eventually resulted in a Packers touchdown. He then lost a fumble that was scooped up and ran back for another score. Later in the game, however, Trubisky was able to piece together two scoring drives to salvage a very inconsistent effort. Despite the outcome, Trubisky will have low-level fringe fantasy appeal next week against a Lions team that, throughout his career, the quarterback has dominated in the past.--Joey C - RotoBaller

The Buffalo Bills have secured the No. 2 spot in the AFC playoffs, meaning Week 18 will be treated like a preseason game. Head coach Sean McDermott noted earlier in the week that the team plans on using starters and reserves on Sunday against New England. Quarterback Josh Allen will get the start to extend his consecutive starts streak, which dates back to 2018. Fantasy managers should only expect to see Allen for a series before Mitchell Trubisky takes over. The 2017 second overall pick has played 54 snaps across eight blowout games this season. Fantasy managers still playing in Week 18 should look elsewhere for a starting quarterback. Trubisky ranks as a low-end QB2.--Andrew Ball - RotoBaller

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said on Monday that the team plans to use a blend of starters and backups in a meaningless Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday against the division-rival New England Patriots. The Bills locked up the No. 2 seed in the AFC with their win over the division-rival New York Jets in Week 17. Quarterback Josh Allen will start the game but will only play for a very brief time, which means backup Mitchell Trubisky should see most of the snaps this weekend. Allen holds the longest active streak among NFL QBs with 114 consecutive starts, dating back to 2018. Trubisky has played only 53 offensive snaps all year and will get a little run in the regular-season finale against the Pats. The 30-year-old veteran and former first-rounder has gone 4-for-5 for 78 yards and a TD in parts of eight games in 2024. We hope fantasy managers in superflex leagues don't have to rely on him in Week 18.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Buffalo Bills quarterback Mitchell Trubisky (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. The backup to Josh Allen suffered a knee injury during a preseason game against the Steelers in mid-August. Sean McDermott notes that he's unsure if Trubisky will be healthy enough to play in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. Allen and Trubisky are the only two quarterbacks listed on the active roster. If the latter is unable to suit up, the Bills will likely promote veteran Mike White from the practice squad.--Andrew Ball - RotoBaller

Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane is "cautiously optimistic" that quarterback Mitchell Trubisky (knee) will avoid being placed on injured reserve, according to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic. However, the team won't rule anything out until Trubisky is able to practice. Nevertheless, Beane's comments are promising. The same is true of the Bills' decision to release quarterback Ben DiNucci, leaving the Bills with only Josh Allen and Trubisky on the 53-man roster. Buffalo wouldn't enter the season with Allen as their only healthy quarterback, so perhaps Trubisky is trending in the right direction. We should know more within the next week.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller
