Melvin Gordon III Losing His Handle On Lead-Back Duties?
4 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III salvaged his fantasy stat line in Week 8 against the Chargers by catching six passes for 21 yards with the team in comeback mode in the second half. Gordon played 36 snaps to Phillip Lindsay's 29, but for the second straight week, Lindsay was the more efficient ball-carrier. It's concerning for Gordon's fantasy managers, but the good news is that Gordon remains the preferred pass-catching option out of the backfield. The Falcons, Denver's Week 9 opponent, have allowed the second-most receptions (52) to running backs, including four receiving TDs. The matchup is a good one for Gordon, but he's more of a low-end RB2 as long as Lindsay continues to split the workload with him.
