Nick Mullens Is A Potential QB2 Option In Week 9
4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Nick Mullens will be under center for the team on Thursday night with Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) sidelined. Mullens has been a mixed bag on the field this year. He shined in Week 3 against the New York Giants, throwing for 343 yards, but he followed the game up with a 200-yard, two-interception performance against the Philadelphia Eagles. This week, Mullens and the 49ers face the Green Bay Packers, who have a solid pass defense, but have still allowed 26.7 points per game on the year. Mullens will likely need to throw a decent amount to keep the 49ers in contention in this game. Expect him to throw for around 250 yards with a chance for multiple touchdowns, making him a possible QB2 option in Week 9.
