Eagles Committed To Carson Wentz
4 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said he didn't consider replacing quarterback Carson Wentz with rookie Jalen Hurts during the Sunday night win over the Cowboys in Week 8. Wentz turned the ball over four times and finished 15-for-27 for just 123 yards and two touchdowns in the 23-9 win. "Carson is our starter, and we've got a lot of trust and faith in him that he can get the job done," Pederson said. Wentz is on pace for the worst statistical season of his career and he leads the league in turnovers (16), interceptions (12) and sacks (32). He's 31st in completion percentage (58.4) and 29th in yards per attempt (6.1). In his defense, he hasn't had a ton to work with in an offense hit with lots of injuries, but Wentz has showed a mixture of brilliant plays and head-scratching decisions while trying to do too much at times. He'll be a QB2 with upside when the Eagles return from their Week 9 bye to face the Giants in Week 10.
