Nick Foles Falls Short In Overtime
4 years agoChicago Bears quarterback Nick Foles completed 28-of-41 passes for 272 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Bears crushing 26-23 loss to the Saints in Week 8. The Bears offense got off to a modestly efficient start in the first half, posting 13 points and hitting on some big plays. Foles worked the play-action game to hit rookie receiver Darnell Mooney for 50 yards and then Allen Robinson on an excellent 24-yard snag for a score. But the offense was decimated by injuries to the offensive line, penalties and poor execution in the second half. The veteran passer was able to bring the Bears back from 10 points down in the 4th quarter to force overtime but failed on the team's only drive in the extra frame. Foles and the Bears will face a surprisingly vulnerable Titans secondary in Week 9.
