Jamison Crowder, Breshad Perriman Out Against Chiefs
4 years agoNew York Jets wide receivers Jamison Crowder (groin) and Breshad Perriman (concussion) will be out for Week 8 against the Chiefs. Perriman has already been ruled out, while Crowder suffered a setback and was deemed unlikely to play by head coach Adam Gase. The Jets are listed as 19.5-point underdogs against the defending Super Bowl champions this weekend and will line up rookie Denzel Mims, Braxton Berrios, Jeff Smith and Vyncint Smith as their top-four receivers. They have 59 career catches and three touchdowns between them. Quarterback Sam Darnold, who was already an unappealing low-end QB2, will likely struggle to get anything going consistently through the air. Crowder, Perriman and Mims haven't played a game together yet, with Crowder and Perriman missing three games apiece. Crowder will be missing his second straight game. Berrios will replace Crowder in the slot, with Smith and Mims on the outside. Mims had four catches for 42 yards in his debut last week and will be the most attractive fantasy wideout for Gang Green, but he's still a desperation flex in deeper formats.
