Buccaneers Fear Vita Vea Suffered Season-Ending Injury
4 years agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers fear that defensive tackle Vita Vea (ankle) suffered a season-ending broken ankle in the Thursday night loss to the Bears, according to a source. Vea is undergoing an MRI exam on Friday to confirm. If it's confirmed, it'll be a big loss for Tampa's defensive line, as Vea had ranked in the top five among all defensive lineman in the NFL in his pass-rush grade this season. The 25-year-old has 10 combined tackles (six solo), three tackles for loss, three QB hits and two sacks in five games. The Buccaneers Defense has seen plenty improvement from last year, but losing Vea for the rest of the year would be a big blow, especially with the Packers coming to town in Week 6.
