4 years agoHouston Astros starter Framber Valdez will try to shake out of a slump when he takes the mound Thursday against the Rangers. Valdez (3-3) began the season on fire, posting a 1.72 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in his first five starts but has really struggled recently. Over his last three starts, the 26-year-old has a 7.58 ERA and has allowed 21 hits over his last 19 innings. The Astros are fighting for playoff position and Valdez has emerged an integral starter but needs to get back on track. Valdez is not fantasy viable until he puts a strong outing on the board.--Joey C - RotoBaller
