4 years agoNew York Mets infielder Andres Gimenez was placed on the injured list for an undisclosed reason on Tuesday. The team is not specifying which injured list Gimenez is going on. Gimenez has had a breakout rookie campaign in 2020 acting as both an offensive and defensive spark plug for the team, despite recent struggles at the plate. Gimenez is batting .254 in 59 at-bats and has six stolen bases which is tied for second in the National League. It is unclear whether this move is related to COVID-19, though the Mets have not reported any other positive tests since last Thursday.
