4 years agoNew England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham (leg) has been battling leg discomfort and is not expected to practice much, if at all, on Friday, according to sources. The Patriots will play it cautious with Stidham. His leg injury may explain why he's had a rough few days of practice as he battles for playing time with Cam Newton and veteran Brian Hoyer. There has been some speculation that the Patriots might run with some sort of quarterback committee to begin the season, but Stidham's injury might ultimately pave the way for Newton to be the unquestioned starter come Week 1, despite the fact that Newton still doesn't have a very good grasp of the offense yet. Stidham, 24, would be just a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues if he's starting games in 2020 for the Pats.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
