Jacob deGrom Scratched With Tight Neck
4 years agoUpdating a previous report, New York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (neck) was scratched from his scheduled start on Friday against the Phillies with a tight neck. The good news is that he doesn't have any structural issues with his neck and he plans to throw a bullpen session on Sunday or Monday. The right-hander also suffered from a "hot spot" on his right middle finger during his last start, describing it as a small blister. deGrom isn't worried about the finger issue. The reigning two-time National League Cy Young winner is 2-0 this year with a 2.45 ERA in four starts and remains a fantasy must-start when he's on the bump for the Metropolitans. New York has yet to name deGrom's replacement as the starter against Philly.
