Byron Buxton Heating Up After Second Consecutive Homer
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton homered for the second straight day in a 3-2 loss to the Kansas City Royals. A day after crushing a 431-foot blast, Buxton outdid himself by slugging a 442-foot home run with an exit velocity of 108.9 MPH. It's the fourth-longest homer of his career. Buxton told reporters that he was "a little hard on himself the past couple days." With three extra-base hits in the last three games, the 26-year-old seems to be more loose and is heating up now. He has yet to steal a base this year, though perhaps as his foot continues to get better, he'll start to take chances on the basepaths. He'll get a favorable matchup on Saturday against lefty Danny Duffy.
