Greg Holland Earns Save On Saturday
4 years agoKansas City Royals relief pitcher Greg Holland closed out the team's first win of the year against the Cleveland Indians on Saturday. He pitched a flawless 10th inning, striking out the side en route to a 3-2 Royals victory. It was his first save as a Royal since 2015 as he'd bounced around the league the past four years. The team's primary closer, Ian Kennedy, had pitched in the sixth and seventh innings of Saturday's game and was impressive in his own right, not allowing any hits or walks. Kennedy should be expected to receive the bulk of the saves going forward, but it's good to know that Holland can potentially fill in when called upon.
