Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman was unable to participate in the team's workout on Wednesday because his COVID-19 test results were delayed. The situation is being described as a "snafu" and team sources have declared that Bregman is "fine." But this is the second such test that has delayed an Astros player from joining the team in the past few days, something that should concern MLB in regards to the efficiency of their testing process. The runner-up to the 2019 MVP is integral to the Astros success during this season's 60-game sprint. He should be able to join the team in workouts by the end of the week.--Joey C - RotoBaller

Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman hit his ninth home run of the season and helped power the Red Sox past the Rangers on Wednesday night by a score of 6-4. Bregman went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, two runs scored, and three RBI in the contest. It was his 200th career home run, and he now has a .274 career batting average and .366 career wOBA through 4,999 regular-season plate appearances. This year, he is hitting .327 in his first year in Boston with a .434 wOBA, 30 RBI, and a 49.2% hard-hit rate, per Statcast. He has been an elite offensive option at the hot corner and has lived up to the big offseason contract he signed through his first 37 games with the Red Sox.--Zach Thompson - RotoBaller

Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman went 3-for-5 with a home run in Tuesday's 10-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. His other two hits were singles, and he scored three runs. The 31-year-old put the Red Sox up 2-0 in the top of the first inning when he sent a Bowden Francis splitter over the left-field wall at 103.7 MPH. His other two hits came off the bat at over 100 MPH, too, as he's enjoying a stellar start to his career in Boston. Bregman is slashing a superb .331/.401/.570 with 11 doubles, six homers, 23 RBI, and 22 runs scored. He seems to have taken a slight step back in his strikeout percentage (18.2%), but his batted ball metrics have been exceptional. In addition to upping his average exit velocity and hard-hit rate, Bregman has recorded the hardest-hit ball of his career in the early going (109.6 MPH).--Alex Ciulla

Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman had a productive day in a 4-3 loss to the Seattle Mariners on Thursday. Bregman went 2-for-3 with a homer, a walk, and two RBI but it wasn't quite enough in the close loss to Seattle. The veteran infielder hit a solo homer off Seattle starter Bryan Woo in the first inning and later added an RBI single in the third inning. Bregman is off to a hot start for the Red Sox this season, hitting .320 with five homers, 17 runs, 21 RBI, and one steal. He will look to stay hot as the Red Sox begin a weekend series against the Cleveland Guardians.--Matt T - RotoBaller

Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman has been activated from the paternity list prior to Friday's game against the Chicago White Sox. In a corresponding move, the Red Sox have designated right-handed pitcher Michael Fulmer. Bregman is slated to cover the hot corner and bat third on Friday evening. The 31-year-old was held out of the starting nine for just one contest. Over his last six games, Bregman has enjoyed an impressive offensive surge, as he has posted a .391/.462/.739 line with two doubles and two long balls. Under the hood, he has generated a solid .343 xwOBA while posting an elite 13.6 percent whiff rate. Bregman is worth a look in DFS facing Chicago southpaw Martin Perez as he looks to stay hot at the plate.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
