MacKenzie Gore Has Incredibly High Ceiling
4 years agoSan Diego Padres left-handed starter MacKenzie Gore, baseball's No. 1 pitching prospect and fifth overall, is the most intriguing starting option behind ace Chris Paddack in 2020. If Gore debuts early on this year and dominates as a rookie, the Padres could sneak into the playoffs for the first time since 2006. The 21-year-old southpaw had a 1.69 ERA with 135 strikeouts and 28 walks in 101 innings at High-A and Double-A in 2019. The question with Gore this year is when will he debut and how many innings will he actually get in the Friars rotation? He's the real deal, though, so he needs to be owned in all fantasy formats with the Padres being aggressive with their top prospects recently.
