Maurice Greene Locks In Modified Choke For The Win
4 years agoMaurice Greene (9-4) is no stranger to ending a man's night by submission. After Saturday night's finish, Greene has now scored submissions in five of his nine victories. Greene, the former GLORY kickboxer, used his kicks in the first round to keep Villante at bay, keeping the wrestler away. The second round was more Greene, proving to be the bigger and stronger man against Villante, who had recently moved up from the light heavyweight division. There was a bit of a scare in the third round for Greene, who ate a left hand by Villante that sent him to the deck. Raining down shots, Greene weathered the storm and recomposed. Catching Villante off guard, Greene locked in the arm triangle to earn the tap-out victory. As long as Greene faces heavyweights outside the top 15, the chance is very high that he will score points on submissions.
