Mohamed Sanu Sr. In Better Shape After Surgery
4 years agoNew England Patriots wide receiver Mohamed Sanu Sr. (ankle) is almost 16 weeks removed from offseason ankle surgery for a high ankle sprain, and his recovery is going better than expected. "I would tell you he's probably faster, quicker, leaner and in better shape now than prior to the surgery," said Hilton Alexander, who is in his third offseason working with Sanu in Atlanta. The 30-year-old disappointed for New England after they sent a second-round pick to Atlanta for his services. However, he suffered his ankle sprain in his third game with the Pats and was slowed the rest of the year. But Sanu graduated to work on explosive movements, cutting, hill running and full-speed drills last week. He currently weighs 202 pounds and is "faster than he's ever been." Even though Sanu is hungry to prove his worth to the Patriots, he's unlikely to produce fantasy relevant numbers with quarterbacks Jarrett Stidham or Brian Hoyer at the helm in 2020.
