Manny Banuelos Among Mariners Minor League Cuts
5 years agoThe Seattle Mariners have released seven minor league players in the last week, which makes eight total players from March and May. The Mariners released 38 total minor league players in that time frame from 2019. The seven players released this week were outfielders Eliezer Alvarez, Ryan Ramiz and Luis Veloz, starting pitcher Manny Banuelos, third baseman Mitch Nay and first baseman Nick Zammarelli III. Banuelos, 29, was a top pitching prospect with the Yankees, but injuries have hampered him in his career. But the left-hander pitched 50 2/3 innings over 16 appearances (eight starts) for the White Sox last year, posting a 6.93 ERA, 7.82 K/9 and 5.86 BB/9.
