Donovan Peoples-Jones 2020 Outlook: Tough Sledding For The Late Round Prospect
5 years agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones was drafted by the Browns in the sixth round of this year's draft. The former five-star recruit didn't live up to the lofty expectations during his three-year collegiate career at Michigan. However, his strong hands and stout route running ability could allow him to carve a role within the offense somewhere down the line. Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry combined for a 51 percent target share last year. Together they both owned 67 percent of the air yards. Combine that with the team's ability to deploy two pass-catching tight ends with Austin Hooper and David Njoku, and there's suddenly not enough balls to go around for a third receiving option in the offense. Sixth-round rookies tend to initially not see much playing time early on in their careers. Peoples-Jones will need a lot to happen to see enough snaps and targets to develop into a fantasy-relevant asset this year. His 306.44 ADP is a reflection of how much the odds are stacked against him. Peoples-Jones is valued best as a deep dynasty stash, but his outlook for this year will leave fantasy gamers wanting more. He's best left on the waiver wire until he starts being used heavily in the Browns game plan.
