Las Vegas Raiders Wide Receiver Tyrell Williams should not be drafted in any leagues this year. He had an opportunity to step up and play the WR1 role for the Raiders after the team lost Antonio Brown, but he fell flat on his face with a final stat line of 42 receptions for 651 yards and six touchdowns. That doesn’t sound too bad on paper, but the tale of the season tells a different story. He started off hot by scoring a touchdown in each of his first five games, but his yardage production was nothing to write home about and he only scored one more touchdown the rest of the season. The former Los Angeles Charger had three receptions or less 10 times, and he failed to reach 50 yards receiving 61.5% of the time. He finished as the WR47 in PPR leagues last year, and 2020 looks even less promising. The Raiders spent their first-round pick on Henry Ruggs III in the NFL Draft, who will basically play the same role that Williams did and is a far superior athlete. Besides Ruggs, the 2019 bust will also be competing for targets with late-season standout Hunter Renfrow and fourth-year breakout tight end Darren Waller. Further, the Raiders are a run-first team (eighth in run percentage) and should funnel the offense through Josh Jacobs. It is also a possibility that the 6’4” deep threat is cut before the season starts since he is due to make $11 million per year over the next three years, and the Raiders have an opt-out clause in his agreement for 2020. There are a bunch of unknowns when it comes to Williams’ status, but one thing is clear, whatever his situation is, he has zero fantasy value heading into 2020.--Frank Dyevoich, Esq.
