Kareem Hunt, 2020 Outlook - Enticing Value At His ADP
5 years agoYou are rarely presented with an opportunity to use a seventh-round draft pick on a former rushing champion who is still 24-years old. However, Hunt’s current ADP (73) allows you to accomplish that just three years after he generated a league-best 1,327 yards (82.9 per game). His high-quality production continued from Weeks 1-11 in 2018, as he was third in rushing yards (824) while averaging 18.8 touches and 109.3 total yards per game.
But the positive momentum of his career abruptly halted when the emergence of an infamous video compelled the Chiefs to release him. Hunt returned to the field following an eight-game suspension last November and performed effectively once again. He averaged 10 touches/58 total yards during Cleveland’s final eight games while playing on 39.1% of the Browns’ offensive snaps.
Hunt should match that workload this season and could secure an expanded touch total as Cleveland transitions to the strategic approach of Kevin Stefanski. Nick Chubb will operate as the Browns’ primary back, and the potential for off the field issues remains a factor when evaluating Hunt. But he would become an instant RB1 if Chubb becomes unavailable for any reason. That solidifies his status as a viable seventh-round pick.
