5 years agoToronto Raptors guard Fred Vanvleet might consider taking a shorter-term deal this offseason. Vanvleet didn't seem interested in taking a short deal earlier in the season, but it appears things have changed. He's aware that the cap situation around the league is uncertain especially with the NBA currently in hiatus. It sounds like Vanvleet is open to taking a short deal and hitting the open market in a season or two. He is currently earning $9.4 million, but is deserving of a significant raise after how he has been playing this season. Vanvleet is averaging 17.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and a career-high 6.6 assists this season. He is an unrestricted free agent after the season, but might stick around in Toronto for a little longer.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
