Jorge Alfaro Cleared for Activities

Miami Marlins catcher Jorge Alfaro (oblique) has been cleared for activities and will begin doing, "some hitting, catching, etc." The report states that this will be a process that will take some time, but the team remains hopeful that Alfaro will be ready for Opening Day. If Alfaro starts the season on the injured list, Francisco Cervelli will begin the year as the starting catcher with Chad Wallach as his backup. If he does miss Opening Day, Alfaro is unlikely to miss much more time as long as he doesn't suffer a setback. He's a solid option in mixed leagues at a weak offensive position.
