German Marquez Pitches Well In Spring Debut
5 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez (arm) looked good in his spring debut on Sunday as he threw three scoreless innings against the Angels. Marquez ended his 2019 campaign early in August when the team shut him down due to ongoing arm inflammation. The 25-year-old talked about wanting to improve the difference between his slider and curveball this season, but it looks like he's got a ways to go since the two had very similar velocities on Sunday. The best news was that he hit 97 MPH with his fastball, and now the team will see how his arm recovers from the outing. If Marquez is fully healthy, he could be a surprise star for Colorado.
