Patrick Mahomes Extension Unlikely To Be Done Until After Draft
5 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes are both committed to getting a long-term extension done this offseason in order to try and build a dynasty in KC, and there's no question that Mahomes will become the highest-paid player in the NFL when that happens. He'll be in line to make an average salary of over $35 million per season. But the Chiefs will be mindful of how Mahomes' contract will affect the rest of the roster, and the most likely timetable that they get an extension with Mahomes done will be sometime after the draft. The 24-year-old just completed his third NFL season and has already won an MVP and a Super Bowl MVP. He's the real deal and will be the first QB off the board in fantasy drafts in 2020.
