Dansby Swanson 2020 Outlook: Looking to Continue Upward Trends from 2019
5 years agoThe 25-year-old former blue-chip prospect simply hasn't ascended to the superstar level that many projected for him since he was drafted first overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2015 draft. Given his age, it's still very possible that Swanson takes a major step forward in 2020, and he is coming off easily his best season since his brief call-up in 2016. The righty posted what was easily his best barrel (10.1%) and hard-hit (42.5%) percentages in 2019, meaning he is making the best solid contact of his career. That was reflected in both his power and average numbers, as he improved his OPS by nearly 50 points from 2019. I think it's fair to assume that Swanson continues to improve in 2020, and hitting either in front or behind of the meat of the potent Braves lineup the counting stats should pile up as well.
