Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Joonas Korpisalo has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his right knee and underwent surgery to repair it on Monday. He is expected to miss four to six weeks, leaving Elvis Merzlikins as the de facto starter until his return. Columbus is likely in line for a drop-off in net going from Korpisalo and his .913 save percentage this season to Merzlikins and his .889 save percentage, but they have to hope that Merzlikins will improve with more consistent usage. Merzlikins has yet to record a win in his 10 appearances but will get plenty of opportunities in the next month. Korpisalo is worth stashing until he is healthy, and Merzlikins can be cautiously added for fantasy teams that are in need of goalie help.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBaller

Boston Bruins goaltender Joonas Korpisalo has been named the starter for Monday's matchup against the Buffalo Sabres. He will receive the starting nod for the 20th time this season, heading into action with a 10-7-2 record. Korpisalo's wins this season include a 3-1 victory against Buffalo on Dec. 21, during which he made 19 saves. The Finnish netminder has posted a respectable 2.78 goals-against average with three shutouts, but he has a lowly .896 save percentage. Fantasy managers never really know what they will get with Korpisalo. However, since the Sabres have the worst record in the Eastern Conference and have only won nine road outings all season, Korpisalo looks like a solid fantasy option on Monday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Boston Bruins goaltender Joonas Korpisalo stopped all 29 shots he faced against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday evening. The Senators had a slight edge in the shot total, but Korpisalo was able to lead the way. Morgan Geekie scored the eventual game-winner in the second period, and David Pastrnak put the game out of reach with an empty-netter in the final seconds. Fantasy managers should expect Korpisalo to continue to operate as the top option in Boston for the time being, as Jeremy Swayman is dealing with a "minor" upper body injury. Swayman exited early on Wednesday evening, and Korpisalo entered the game in relief. Over his previous three contests, Korpisalo has held a solid .937% SV and a 1.71 GAA. He could be worth a look in deeper formats as a low-end streaming option on Saturday afternoon, facing the Colorado Avalanche.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Boston Bruins goaltender Joonas Korpisalo skated away with his second shutout of the season as interim head coach Joe Sacco started his reign with a 1-0 win over Utah Thursday night. Giving Korpisalo the nod instead of Jeremy Swayman was a big call from Sacco, but he didn't have to regret it. Korpisalo stopped 21 shots en route to victory. The Finnish netminder is now sporting a 4-2-1 record for the season, having allowed 2.38 goals with a .911 save percentage. Swayman's numbers pale in comparison, so we might start seeing Korpisalo more often under the new regime.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Boston Bruins goaltender Joonas Korpisalo will be between the sticks for Tuesday's season opener against the Florida Panthers. Boston managed to get Jeremy Swayman under a new contract right before the start of the season, but the team has decided to go with Korpisalo for the first game. The Finnish netminder faces a difficult challenge on the road against the defending Stanley Cup champions. Korpisalo has a 3-7-2 career record against the Panthers with a 3.81 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
