Trey Mancini 2020 Player Outlook: Higher-End Fantasy Value Despite Lineup
5 years agoUPDATE: Trey Mancini will miss the 2020 season due to chemotherapy treatment for colon cancer. Baltimore Orioles first baseman/outfielder Trey Mancini was a big contributor for fantasy players in 2019, despite hitting in one of baseball’s worst lineups. The 27-year-old hit .291 with 36 home runs, 106 runs scored, and 97 RBI. Mancini’s numbers seem legit, as his expected batting average, expected on-base average, and expected slugging percentage were all in the top 18 percent of baseball. The only concern for Mancini, and it isn’t an insignificant one, is whether or not he can replicate such impressive runs and RBI numbers hitting in the O’s lineup. Fantasy players seem to be taking this into consideration, as Mancini is currently being taken at about pick 105 in drafts. This seems like an appropriate valuation for him, as he still has a lot to offer.
