Philip Rivers Recovers From Early Pick
5 years agoLos Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers looked like he was going to be in for another long day when he threw a horrendous interception right to a defensive tackle early in Sunday's game, but he got it together and put up a decent showing, even if it was ultimately in a losing effort. Rivers ended up going 20-for-29 for 265 yards and two touchdowns in the Chargers loss in Denver, and he played the entire game even though rumors were circulating that he could be benched. Rivers got a lot of help from his receivers as Austin Ekeler turned short passes into huge gains, Mike Williams made a couple phenomenal catches, and Keenan Allen made a leaping, spinning flip into the end zone for a touchdown. Now owners should expect rumors to swirl throughout the next few weeks as the question is how LA will deal with their 37-year-old pending free agent quarterback when there is no hope for the playoffs.
