Phillip Dorsett Fits Into WR5 Conversation For Week 9
Phillip Dorsett will go up against a Ravens Defense that is allowing the 13th most fantasy points to opposing receivers this season. Dorsett has stepped in and made some timely plays this season for the Patriots but his target-share is capped with so many weapons in the New England passing game. The Ravens have given up at least eight fantasy points to 12 different receivers this season, a number that Dorsett could easily reach. But the receiver will be no more than a WR5 as a touchdown-dependent option against the Ravens.

Broncos Release Phillip Dorsett
Phillip Dorsett was released by the team on Monday. With the Broncos already planning to move on from wide receiver Tim Patrick, they continued their overhaul of their wide receiving core with Dorsett's release. Dorsett was buried on the depth chart and unlikely to be much of a factor. He had not caught a pass during the 2024 preseason, and he has not caught a pass in the regular season since 2022. With the Broncos moving forward with a younger receiving core, the former-first-round pick will have to find a new home.

Broncos Re-Sign Phillip Dorsett
Phillip Dorsett and cornerback Quinton Newsome to undisclosed deals on Monday, according to the team. In corresponding moves, the Broncos waived punter Nik Constantinou and receiver Lincoln Victor. Dorsett was released by Denver last Friday after initially signing with the team's practice squad before the 2023 season. The 31-year-old former 29th overall pick by the Indianapolis Colts in 2015 out of Miami was elevated just twice during the regular season last year and was unable to reel in any of his three targets. In his eight NFL seasons, Dorsett has a total of 151 catches for 2,001 yards and 12 touchdowns in 94 games (20 starts). He'll serve as receiver depth for the Broncos this summer behind Courtland Sutton, Josh Reynolds, Marvin Mims Jr., rookie Troy Franklin and Tim Patrick.

Phillip Dorsett Released By Broncos
Phillip Dorsett. The veteran wideout was already a longshot to make the roster. The 31-year-old joined the Broncos last season and failed to make a catch during his two appearances. Dorsett has bounced around quite a bit throughout his time in the league. Dorsett is viewed more as a depth option than an actual impact player on a roster. He could sign elsewhere before the season starts, but his chances of having fantasy value are low.

Phillip Dorsett, Michael Bandy Headed To Active Roster
Phillip Dorsett and Michael Bandy have been added to the active roster ahead of the Week 17 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Normally, this won't be noteworthy, but it is due to the current state of the Broncos' wideouts. Right now, Denver will be without Courtland Sutton (concussion) while Jerry Jeudy (illness) and Marvin Mims Jr. (hamstring) are questionable for this game. The fact that the Broncos added two receivers to the roster means that the team is preparing to be without both Jeudy and Mims on Sunday. Regardless, it's tough to imagine any of the Broncos receivers having fantasy value with quarterback Russell Wilson on the bench.
