Jared Cook, Tre'Quan Smith Miss Another Practice
5 years agoNew Orleans Saints tight end Jared Cook (ankle) and wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) missed practice for the second straight day on Thursday. Neither player looks particularly close to playing in Week 8 against the Cardinals, so you shouldn't plan on having either of them in your lineups. Cook caught touchdowns in his last two games but sat out in Week 7. Josh Hill will continue to be the top pass-catching tight end if Cook misses another game, but he's a desperation TE2 for fantasy. Quarterback Drew Brees (thumb) could return this weekend, but Michael Thomas is still the only trustworthy fantasy receiver for New Orleans. Ted Ginn would be a boom-or-bust WR4/flex if Brees is back. Smith just hasn't been able to stay on the field this year.
