Kurt Suzuki Injured In Game 5
5 years agoWashington Nationals catcher Kurt Suzuki (wrist, face) was hit in the wrist and face by a fastball from Dodgers starter Walker Buehler in Game 5 of the National League Division Series and was forced to leave the game. Suzuki's wrist took the brunt of the impact, but the ball ricocheted and hit him in the face before he went down. The backstop was on the ground for a while and looked dazed before walking off with trainers. The severity of his injuries are unknown, but he's likely to go through the concussion protocol. Yan Gomes replaced Suzuki on the bases and behind the plate on Wednesday. The winner of the game will face the Cardinals in the National League Championship Series.
