Mikko Koskinen Makes Season Debut Tuesday Night
Edmonton Oilers goaltender Mikko Koskinen is set to make his first appearances of the season on Tuesday against his former team the Islanders. The 31-year-old Finn played four games for the Isles in 2010-11 before returning to Europe, where he stayed until the start of last season. He had a mixed year during his comeback campaign, tallying 11 wins from his first 16 games before cooling off and finishing the season with a 25-21-6 record. He recorded a .903 save percentage and a 2.93 goals-against average. Koskinen will battle Mike Smith for starts this season, and he finds himself trailing straightaway after Smith recorded wins in both of Edmonton's first two games.
