James Johnson 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoMiami Heat forward James Johnson's days of being a stat-sheet stuffer seem to be behind him, or are they? Johnson and teammate Dion Waiters have supposedly been working out this summer and Johnson is supposed to be in the best shape of his Heat career. Johnson was a disappointment last season as he struggled with various injuries and played just 55 games. His numbers dipped across the board and he never seemed to get his rhythm from the floor going as he shot a career-worst 43.3%. Let's not forget that Johnson was a sneaky, top-50 player just a couple of seasons ago when he was a stud in category leagues. The question is, can he return to that form. There is plenty of rumors swirling that his bulky contract could be moved, so tread lightly here, but keep in mind, he could be a serious sleeper pick this season.
