Hassan Whiteside 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoPortland Trail Blazers center Hassan Whiteside had quite the rollercoaster of a fantasy season last year. He slipped in drafts, then started the season as a top-40 player and then slowly slipped to late-round value as we saw his playing time slip in Miami last year. Whiteside actually finished the season 24th in the NBA in PER with 23.52 and still showed he can be a fantasy beast when given the minutes. Whiteside will be the fill-in starting center this season until Jusuf Nurkic returns from injury and until then, we can expect possibly a top-50 player, but then again, this not a guarantee. A perfect scenario for Whiteside owners would be to draft the big man, look for his value to skyrocket early on and then deal him at this point. Or, this could backfire and he has another rocky season from the start in Portland. Either way, if you can grab the center in the later rounds, he will still hold some solid value and provide elite rebounding and blocks.
