Preston Williams Slightly Productive in Loss
Preston Williams caught four of his six targets in Miami's 43-0 blowout loss to the Patriots on Sunday, ending with a total of 63 yards. While 48 of those yards came after the game was already out of hand in the second half, Williams was still Miami's most productive player on offense - even though that isn't exactly a difficult achievement. But even though he was Miami's best player on Sunday, it doesn't mean that he should find a home anywhere but in the deepest of fantasy leagues. With quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and his lack of magic leading a minor-league band of misfits into Dallas for a Week 3 matchup, leave Williams on the wire where he belongs.

Preston Williams Cut By Panthers
Preston Williams has been released by the organization. The 26-year-old put together a fairly strong rookie campaign in 2019. Since then, Williams has struggled to make the same kind of impact in the league. He only played in one game with the Panthers last season. He has 56 receptions, 787 yards, and seven touchdowns in 25 games over the course of four seasons. Williams should be able to catch on elsewhere as a depth option.

Panthers Sign Preston Williams
Preston Williams to their practice squad on Monday. Williams was waived by the Dolphins last week and went unclaimed. The 25-year-old was a starter in his rookie season in 2019 and finished with career-highs in receptions (32), targets (60) and receiving yards (428) while scoring three touchdowns in eight games (seven starts). But he's played in exactly eight games in each of his three NFL seasons and bottomed out in 2021 with just six catches on 16 targets for 71 yards and no touchdowns. In Carolina, he'll merely serve as receiver depth behind DJ Moore, Robbie Anderson, Terrance Marshall Jr., Laviska Shenault Jr., Rashard Higgins, Andre Roberts and Ish Smith.

Dolphins Cut Preston Williams
Preston Williams on Tuesday, according to a source. Williams complained his lack of a role earlier this summer, but he was never realistically going to see much playing time after Miami added wideouts Tyreek Hill and Cedrick Wilson Jr. in the offseason. Multiple teams reached out over the last few weeks about a possible trade for Williams, but now they'll be able to pick him up for free on the open market. The 25-year-old caught 56 of 111 targets for 787 yards and seven touchdowns in his three seasons with the Dolphins, but he had trouble staying on the field, playing in only 24 games (17 starts) over a three-year span.

Preston Williams Fills Depth Role Saturday
Preston Williams hauled in all three of his targets for 22 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday evening. He returned a punt at the end of the third quarter, then saw his three targets in the fourth quarter when Skylar Thompson quarterbacked the offense. Williams has yet to emerge as a true threat through three NFL seasons and is presumably on the roster bubble as the summer carries on.
