Nikola Vucevic 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoOrlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic made a major breakthrough in 2018-19, earning his first All-Star selection and producing career-best numbers across the board. He had 20.8 points, 12 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game, shooting with a 51.8 percent efficiency, including a solid 36.4 percent from deep. Vucevic genuinely became one of the best big men in the league and that won't change in 2019-20. With that said, there might be some doubters in Vucevic's ability to produce another great year when he struggled in the playoffs against Toronto, managing only 11.2 points and 6.2 rebounds in five games. It didn't hurt his value in the eyes of the franchise, though, as the Magic locked him up with a four-year, $100 million deal in the summer. The Magic ended a seven-year playoff drought with Vucevic leading the charge and they will be expected to challenge for a postseason spot again in 2019-20. Some players might rest on their laurels after signing a big deal, but we've seen Vucevic improve consistently throughout his career, so his levels shouldn't drop much during the upcoming season, if at all.
