Luka Doncic 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoDallas Mavericks small forward Luka Doncic had a historic rookie year in the NBA, becoming only the fifth first-year player in league history to average at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists for the season. In February, Doncic became the youngest player ever to record three triple-doubles and he added another one just before his 20th birthday, which means that the Slovenian phenomenon has bagged four of the five triple-doubles recorded by teenagers in NBA history. Doncic, who had eight triple-doubles in total, won the Rookie of the Year award ahead of Trae Young and Deandre Ayton, averaging 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and six assists. The third pick of the 2018 NBA Draft put up incredible numbers, but there's still plenty of upside to his game, as he shot below 43 percent from the floor and struggled from deep after the All-Star break, making only 26.4 percent of his treys. His shot may be off again at times in 2019-20, but Doncic's versatility makes him a top-tier fantasy asset. There aren't many guys in the league who can do it all on a nightly basis. The amazing rookie season offered only a glimpse of what Doncic is capable of doing on a basketball court.
