Terry Rozier 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoThe torch has been passed in Charlotte. No longer are the Hornets Kemba Walker’s team. They are now….Terry Rozier’s team? Rozier signed a three-year, $58-million deal with the team this offseason and it’s likely that Rozier will have an extremely high usage with the team this year, mostly because there’s really nobody else there to handle the ball.
It seems like a dream scenario for Rozier who had been getting frustrated with his limited playing time in Boston the past few years. Now, Rozier will have an opportunity to prove he can be a viable full-time starting point guard for an NBA team.
Rozier’s a career 38% shooter. He’s likely going to be taking a lot more shots in Charlotte than he was in Boston, so it’s hard to imagine him improving on that percentage in 2019-20.
Rozier showed big game potential when given the opportunity in Boston. With a heavy usage, he can pile up the points, threes and assists quickly. Look for him to average around 20 points per game, around 2.5 threes per game and 7 assists per game this year. Again, it’s the field goal percentage that will hurt you and he’ll likely be around 3 turnovers per game as well, but if you’re looking for high usage in the middle rounds of drafts, Rozier is your guy.
