Ito Smith Not Start-Worthy In Week 2
5 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Ito Smith led the team in rushing in Week 1 with 31 rushing yards on six attempts. He was far more effective than lead running back Devonta Freeman and only saw two fewer carries. While Smith could certainly end up in a time-share with Freeman sooner rather than later, it's a risky bet for a tough Week 2 matchup against an Eagles rush defense that held the Redskins to just 2.2 yards per carry in Week 1. Smith will probably see about the same workload in Week 2, giving him relatively low upside. He's a decent stash in deep leagues and as a handcuff for Freeman owners, but he should remain on your bench for now.
