Byron Buxton Out for the Year
5 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (shoulder) will miss the remainder of the 2019 season after undergoing shoulder surgery on Tuesday, according to the Star Tribune. He reportedly had surgery Tuesday afternoon to repair a torn labrum, and he is expected to miss five to six months as a result. Buxton has been out since the beginning of August with this injury, so there are no immediate changes in value among the Minnesota outfield, as they will continue to shuffle the defensive lineup with Jake Cave likely continuing to receive the bulk of playing time alongside Eddie Rosario and Max Kepler. Buxton should be back in time for the start of the 2020 season barring any setbacks, but for now he should be dropped in all redraft leagues.
