Gus Edwards To Play With Something To Prove Sunday
5 years agoBaltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards has been locked in as the second running back on the depth chart going into Sunday's matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Just because he's second on the depth chart doesn't mean he's locked into touches, though. The Ravens offensive coordinator said Thursday, "We'll probably see who has the hot hand and feel it out. Mark is our starter, everybody is going to contribute." There has been a lot of buzz recently around rookie running back Justice Hill, who offers Baltimore a fun change-of-pace running style, but people tend to forget that Edwards had good numbers in 2018. The bulldozing back finished last year with 718 yards on 137 rush attempts and two touchdowns. The Ravens play a presumably tanking Dolphins Defense that gave up the most yards and second-most points in franchise history last season. Edwards could be a viable flex option depending on if he gets the "hot hand."
