Kerryon Johnson Primed For Excellent Week 1
5 years agoDetroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson is healthy and primed for a big Week 1 performance against a Cardinals Defense that let up 154.9 rushing yards per game last season, which ranked last (32nd) in the NFL. The Lions have mentioned that they would like to run the ball more, and Week 1 will be the perfect opportunity for them to do so. If this game stays close, there is a chance that Johnson could see numerous check-down targets as well. It would not be a surprise to see Johnson have 20-plus touches between carries and catches. Due to the fact that C.J. Anderson's workload is largely unknown, Johnson is a high-end RB2 for Week 1. As long as Anderson doesn't cut too much into Johnson's workload, Johnson should quickly turn into an RB1 option.
