Devonta Freeman Could Be A Draft Day Bargain
5 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman had his 2018 season derailed after undergoing surgery on his groin. He only appeared in two games last year after playing 14+ games in each of his first four seasons. This year, Freeman is typically going in the third round of fantasy drafts, despite the fact that there are a lot of positive signs for him. First off, he's healthy to enter the season. Second, he no longer has former teammate Tevin Coleman stealing snaps from him. Ito Smith will steal some touches, but won't be taking nearly as much of the workload as Coleman had been. Third, Freeman is the lead back in one of the league's top offenses, something that's typically not true for running backs going as late as the third round. He could easily be an RB1 if he stays healthy this year.
